Take your well deserved break without worry

November 11: We have to leave Lake Como oh boo hoo! We will make our way to Menaggio to catch the bus to Lugano. Gary leaves his wind breaker on the bus. How do we get it back?


November 10: A Cloudless Day. We are told we must visit the Villa del Balbianello. We take the ferry to Cadenabbia. We have already discovered the “Greenway” walk along the water, so we walk from Cadenabbia to Lenno where the Villa is located. It was a wonderful walk and very photogenic. The Villa is stunning  and the gardens are manicured. The Villa is situated on a peninsula so it has views of the north and south of Lake Como. This villa has been used in the films Casino Royale and the Wedding of Darth Vader.  See Below.


November 9: The view from the hotel is magnificent.

The sun is partly out - lucky us! We buy an all day Ferry ticket. And we visit the towns Cadenabbia, Menaggio and Varenna. At this time of year many retail shops, tourist attractions and restaurants are closed - the good thing is the weather is great and NO PEOPLE. You can tell that during summer time these towns are hopping. All the towns are built on the hillsides so the walk up away from the dock has lots of stone steps. The pasta is easily burned off.
